It is never to late to send a note/email/phone call/ text home.
Do it now. The email you have might be wrong, send it anyway. You don't know if their number is a home-line or cell, text it anyway. (Use your google voice account if you'd like). Nervous about talking to them on the phone, call anyway. (Use the school line and make sure you are calling to say something good about the child. If you can't think of anything good, maybe you should wait a day or two. If you can not ever think of anything nice, maybe you should not be a teacher.) You think the child is not going to show the parent the note, send it home anyway. (I bet if you send home a note that reads little Jo-Jo is the best at making the class smile, or the best helper, or the best question ask-er, the child will give it to the parent.) Maybe you have not sent anything home and it is the last two weeks, send something anyway. Shaw “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” ― George Bernard Shaw
